DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
History department is one of the most important departments of Mushalpur colleges. History as a
subject was opened when the college was established in 1993. At present there are three faculty
members in this department. The department admits each and every student who is interested in
the subject. It admits any twelfth pass students. The department has the vowed motto of
producing quality students. It tries to make the students expert in History related GK
questions, so that they can appear in interviews confidently. At present it has both Honors and
Minor course facility.
Mission:
The department of history of Mushalpur College strives to provide quality education to the students.
The department encourages the students to approach the subject as a lifelong learning process and
also tries to provide ethical and holistic learning. The department initiates the learning technique
through history method. It also encourages the students to study the real life story of great
historical figures so that they can imbibe their qualities. Students are urged to study the past to
prepare them better for the future.
Vision:
The prime vision of the department is to transform the subject of History to an excellent
interesting and utilitarian study. We shall strive to provide the students a conducive atmosphere
for a deeper learning of the Historical phenomena so that the students prepare for a better future
by studying the past. The department strives for the development of skills not simply for living and
livelihood, but also to face the challenges of a rapidly evolving world by encouraging them to be
better human beings.
Courses offered:
The departmental of history offers the courses of Major and Minor to the students under the Four
Year Undergraduate Program (According to NEP-2020) on semester basis of the Bodoland university.
