DEPARTMENT OF PHILOSOPHY
Philosophy department is one of the most prior departments of Mushalpur College. Philosophy as a
subject is open when the college established in 1993 and got permission in 1995 and affiliation
from Gauhati University in 1996. The college as well as the department got Govt. Concurrence in
2008. In 2017 the college got affiliation from Bodoland University, Kokrajhar. At present there
are three faculty members in this department. Our subject does not have an admission policy. It
admits anyone and everyone that has the bare minimum. In fact that was its vowed motto at
inception and that still is its motto not to make any discrimination between meritorious and non
meritorious and debar anyone that has poor marks at H.S. examination. At present it has Major,
Minor, VAC, IDC, SEC course facility.
Mission:
The department of philosophy of Mushalpur College provides quality education to the students. The
department encourages the students to approach education as a lifelong learning process and also
provides the spiritual and ethical learning. Besides the department initiates the learning
techniques through philosophical method and enhance the mental power of the students to overcome the
critical situation. It also urges to make them responsible for the society.
Vision:
The prime vision of the department of philosophy is to transform the subject to an excellent one. We
shall strive to provide students a conductive ethos for learning and development of skills not
simply for living and livelihood but also to face the challenges of a rapidly evolving society and
to make the students better human being.
Courses offered:
The department of Philosophy offers the course Major and Minor, VAC, SEC, IDC as per NEP 2020 under
Bodoland University.
