Important Notes
Students must choose their subjects offered by the college and as per guidelines by the
Bodoland University. Detailed information about the semester scheme for the second year and
third year will be limited to the students after the commencement of 1st year classes. All
the concerned department will categorically explain and give details of the syllabus along
with unified decision of the entire course scheme to the admitted students well in advance.
College Uniform
NSS Unit
A unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) is being organized by the student volunteers under
the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govement of India.

College Canteen
A Cozy and reliable canteen exists in the college campus for refreshment of students as well
as staff under the supervi- sion of college authority.
Career Counselling
In order to sansitise the students of the college to the emerging opportunities and to
enlighten them on the varied career prospects, the college authority arranges for career
counselling programmes. This helps to enable brilliant students to choose from a more varied
basket of career opportunities.
College Magazine
An annual magazine, 'SIFUNG' is published by the Mushalpur College Students' Union. This
magazine contains varius articles written in Assamese, Bodo and English language by the
creative writers amongst the students as well as teachers community.
Library cum Reading Room
A well-stocked library exists in the college premises. This comprises of a lot of reference
books, journals, magazines, encyclopedia besides text books on various subjects to meet the
needs of the students as well as the teachers. Students can enjoy the benefits of library
services from the college library as per rules.
Rules & Regulations for the College Library
(1) The students are provided with a Library Borrower Card. This card is strictly non-transferable. The card must be surrendered at the end of the session.
(ii) One Borrower Card is issued to each student. A student of U.G. (Regular course) can borrow 2 (two) books at a time and the students taking Honours course can borrow 3 (three) books at a time.
(iii) No student is allowed to keep a book for more than 15 days in any case. A fine of Re. 1/- (One) will be imposed for each day for book/books retained before the expiry of the specified date. However, borrowed book/books, if returned before the due date, may be re-issued for a period of another 15 days.
(iv) Any book lost or damaged must be replaced by the borrower.

Students Union
There is a Students' Union of the college namely 'Mushalpur College Students' Union'. This
union body comprises of various departments under the guidance of an incharge to each deptt.
from the teaching staff. The selection/elec- tion of the students' union is conducted by a
committee constituted by the Principal of the college.
Activities of The Students Union
Following are the major activities of the Students' Union:
(a) Holding of Freshmen Social.
(b) Conducting of College Week Festival.
(c) Participation in Social Services.
(d) Arrangement of various Co-Curricular Activities.
(e) Celebration of religious/social Festivals.
(f) Publication of Annual Magazine and Wall Magazine.
(g) Create awareness amongst the students in various respect to maintain discipline in the college.

Examinations
The college hold both external and internal examinations as per the guidelines/Academic
Calendar published and approved by the Executive Council of Bodoland University.
(a) External Examinations:
The college is recognised as Examination Centre for U.G. Final Examinations (all Semester
examinations) from Bodoland University. All the examinations of U.G. (Arts) Course of B.U.
are conducted in the college centre by a committee constituted in conformity with rules and
regulations of Bodoland University.
(b) Internal Examinations:
The college holds internal examinations such as Tests/Sessional Examinations etc. in the
college as per the guidelines of B.U.
The exact programme (date & time) for the internal examinations are scheduled by the
Examination Committee of the college.
IMPORTANT POINTS
Theory Classes:
1 Credit = 15 Classes in one semester = 15 Contact hours in one semester.
Tutorial Classes:
1 Credit = 15 Tutorial classes in one semester = 15 Contact hours in one semester. Practical Classes:
1 Credit (2h) = 30 Contact hours in one semester.
NOTE:
■ Students willing to pursue UG Degree with Minors shall have to choose two disciplines (MINA and MIN-B) in the first semester and may opt to pursue MIN-A as a Major discipline in the 7th Semester if he/she secures 75 percent marks till 6th Semester with no backlog or betterment.
■ Students willing to pursue 4 years UG Degree with a Major and Minor shall have to choose one Major (MAJ) and one Minor (MIN) in the first semester.
■ Students must choose IDC from the pool of courses not studied at the 10+2 level.
■ SEC-Students can choose own discipline/other discipline.
■ VAC- 19 Course (But the College/Institute may offer 3-4 courses from the list provided).
■ Student has to chose one MOOCs course as provided in due time.
