Department of Assamese

DEPARTMENT OF ASSAMESE

The Department of Assamese has been an integral part of Mushalpur College since its inception in 1993. The Major course of the subject was started in 1995 under Gauhati University. The department has been running under Bodoland University since 2017. At present the department mimics the NEP syllabus (FYUGP) and the department has been offering Major, Minor, AEC, SEC under same university since 2023. Through these subjects the department has been trying to give knowledge of Language, Culture, Literature and Comparative study.

Objectives:

1. To protect the mother language, literature and culture.
2. To popularize the folk-literature and folk culture amongst the new generation.

Teaching Plan:

Assamese department offers Major + Minor and Minor + Minor both facilities to the students under four years FYUGP (NEP syllabus) of Bodoland University.
